Job Summary

Senior Data Engineer will be an integral member of the agile data engineering team, leveraging their expertise to enhance data engineering practices within a collaborative setting. They will be crucial in designing, developing, and deploying data ingestion processes and data products. Key responsibilities include automating data quality and validation, optimizing performance for efficient data management, conducting technical peer reviews, contributing to architectural improvements, and working closely with business users and stakeholders to define and implement data solutions that align with strategic business priorities.

Essential Functions

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Implement secure data pipelines and data products.
• Troubleshoot and optimize data processes and queries.

• Ensure robust data governance, security, and data privacy practices.

• Translate business requirements into precise technical specifications.

• Participate in project planning, identifying milestones and resource needs.

• Collaborate with others as part of a cross-functional team.

• Work with the team to evaluate business needs and priorities.

• Ensure production operation and support

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field along

AND

Experience:

5+ years of experience in data engineering with an emphasis on data analytics.

3+ years of experience with at least one of the following cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP.

3+ years of experience with big data technologies such as Synapse, Databricks.

3+ years of experience with at least one of the following scripting languages: Python, SQL, PowerShell.
