Job Summary
IA Construction has an opening for a Quality Control Laboratory Technician at our Franklin Asphalt Plant.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for efficient bituminous asphalt testing, asphalt content and gradation, maximum theoretical density of mix and specific gravity of compacted mix.
- Be engaged and aware in safety and actively participate in Daily Safety Huddles
- Aggregate material testing, sampling, absorption, LA Abrasion, specifications, un-compacted voids, Sodium / Magnesium Loss, crush counts
- Inventory products, QC sampling, schedules, specifications, testing, gradations, and crush gravity of compacted mix efficiently
- Bituminous mix design development, complete overview of Pennsylvania design processes for HMC and WMA as per job specifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Skills
- Computer, fax, printer, and copier experience
- Ability to build professional relationships with coworkers, management, and customers
- Safety Conscience and safety oriented
- Some mechanical and maintenance skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to understand several types of software programs
- Comprehend ASTM and AASHTO standards and procedures
Physical Requirements
- May require walking, standing or sitting for periods of time
- Able to perform tasks in various weather conditions
- Ability to work various shifts
- Lifting and carry of various items is required
