Location: Nahant Labor Yard
Start Date: 11/16/2025
End Date: 3/21/2026
Work Hours: 40 hours, SUN-THUR 6:00AM-2:30PM, FRI, SAT OFF.

Our short-term positions are not part of the salary scale that is advertised within this job posting. The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for the position Maintenance Equipment Operator II at the Nahant Labor Yard for the Fall/Winter 2025 season.
General Statement of Duties:
Safety Sensitive Positions require that the employee participate in the DCR Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program Policy and be subject to a Pre-placement and Random DOT Drug and Alcohol testing.
Incumbents in this position will operate heavy power-operated equipment such as street sweepers, backhoes, front-end loaders and bulldozers used in the construction, maintenance and/or repair of roadways, parkways, parks, etc.; operates heavy dump trucks, snow plows, sanders, tractor-drawn mowers, surf rakes and other equipment for beach, highway and grounds maintenance; operates light vehicles such as passenger cars and panel trucks for transporting personnel and materials; performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment; maintains records and prepares reports; and inspects contractual services.
