What will you do?

A day in the life of a Regional Director with the North Face looks a little like this.

As one of our driven and talented Regional Directors, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and successful tactical execution of all aspects of retail store operations in your geographical area. Through managing your teams, you ensure that all company objectives are met at the store level including the achievement of sales, labor plans, customer service, visual and brand execution, and controllable expenses. You provide leadership and direction to each District Manager and store teams to create an environment that ensures customer satisfaction, maximum productivity and profitability by translating and implementing company and brand developed business plans and strategies. You create meaningful partnerships with cross functional teams across the brand and establish control related standards and procedures. 

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Participates in the development of financial plans for their area of responsibility. Actively reports on results.

  • Participates in the development of the strategic plan for retail store operations to achieve the Retail business plan.

  • Responsible for overall sales and expense results by store. Reports on results and leads the execution through the District Managers to enhance field performance in the areas of sales generation /KPIs, cost controls, team development, visual and brand management, and superior customer experience.

  • Continuously analyze store results and direct activities to maximize performance.

  • Your diverse experiences and background enable you to provide a unique perspective to fuel our global growth. Additionally, you are inclusive and value differing points of view. You hire, develop and support a team that reflects our global consumer population.

  • Leads, directs, and develops direct reports as well as store associate programs, ensuring talent development and succession planning to maximize performance, bench strength, and individual career growth.  Maintains and reports on an effective and ongoing success plan for the division. 

  • Works with all departments to provide feedback from the field on product, visual presentation, competitive landscape, market knowledge, real estate, construction, marketing / brand initiatives, human resources, and any other areas that impact field operations.

  • Communicates, and directs execution of all corporate initiatives at the field level.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 10+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • 10+ years' experience working within a strategic leadership position leading various retail teams and initiatives.

  • A deep passion for and understanding of how-to problem solve in a systematic manner through careful planning, execution and analysis.

  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions from complex business problems.

  • Skilled educator with the ability to synthesize learnings from external and internal sources to inform other leaders and catalyze new actions.

  • Committed to developing strategic relationships cross-functionally in order to grow influence and knowledge-sharing within The North Face and VF.
