Job Description
The Plant Reliability Manager is accountable for managing the maintenance of the plant’s production equipment, furnace, electrical systems, building and grounds. Ensures plant is in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
The Plant Reliability Manager will:
- Conduct periodic inspection and provide guidance concerning all plant systems, furnaces, equipment, facilities and grounds.
- Oversee all changes or upgrades.
- Ensures preventive maintenance is followed on production equipment by scheduling repairs and upgrades while simultaneously working to maximize plant uptime.
- Supervise training of personnel to ensure all crafts (electrical, hydraulic and mechanical) have the required level of expertise. Ensures efficiency and high standards are maintained.
- Support job change initiatives to improve performance
- Remain consistent with lean six sigma principles, ensure the development of a continuous improvement culture within the Plant by involving relevant salary and hourly workforce in the on going identification, development and implementation of improvements to the manufacturing process / performance, ie: implementation of lean six sigma principles.
- Champion energy savings initiations
- Oversee plant apprenticeship program
The Plant Reliability Manager should have:
- Experience communicating and directing the application of safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience Investigating all accidents and safety incidents within the Plant, ensuring proper “root cause analysis” to provide remedial action to prevent reoccurrence implementation of safety corrective actions.
- The ability to prepare estimates and specifications of plant projects, determining crew size, trades involved and materials required to complete projects.
- Experience coordinating and directing outside contracting work associated with plant system, furnace and facility.
- The ability to effectively manage department budgets.
Qualifications
- Glass industry experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field required OR equivalent years of experience in an Engineering role.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance or engineering management position.
- Leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong PC skills with an emphasis on MS Office suite and SAP PM

What we offer at O-I:
Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $170,000 and includes a possible 18% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
