17 West is a premiere American Bistro in New Bremen, Ohio. This unique dining experience features a full lunch and dinner menu, daily specials, a wide selection of cocktails and live entertainment. With an upscale, contemporary menu and a casual atmosphere, the restaurant offers options for business lunches, an evening out and everything in between.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our restaurant, ensuring that our customers have a positive and memorable dining experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure a positive customer experience by handling customer concerns or complaints, ensuring timely seating and food delivery, and monitoring seat rotation, meal duration, flipping tables, and managing the wait list.
- Serve as acting supervisor and main point of contact when the General Manager or Restaurant Manager are not available.
- Assist with training and scheduling staff, monitoring employees’ job performance and personal presentation, administering policies and work standards, and monitoring inventory and ordering supplies as requested.
- Enforce food quality throughout the entire dining room and catering events, follow all health and safety regulations, and ensure cleanliness of dining, bar area, and restrooms.
- Report all repairs required in the restaurant and look for ways to improve current procedures.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Restaurant and Food Service Management and two plus years of restaurant management experience is preferred. Ideal candidate would possess a strong attention to detail and have the ability to make decisions cautiously and to the standards of the restaurant. Communication should be factual, polite, and professional in nature
Physical Demands
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Have the ability to work at a consistent and steady pace for long periods of time
- One will be subject to wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noises
