Driver (CDL B)

Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  

Responsible for daily product distribution including pick-ups, deliveries and selection of product within warehouse. 

RESPONSIBILITES: 

• Responsible for daily noting of mileage and vehicle conditions in vehicle log and related registers as required by N.Y.S.D.O.T;
• Responsible for compliance with all N.Y.S.D.O.T driver regulations and requirements;
• Responsible for proper care and operation of vehicle, assists vehicle maintenance schedule;
• Reports all vehicle maintenance needs to Holt Street Facilities Manager through Fiix;
• Supports and is the backup to the Falconer Manager; 
• Assists warehouse management in special projects as requested;
• Loading, transporting, and delivering/picking up items to safe, timely manner;
• Reviewing orders before loading to ensure that deliveries are completed accurately;
• Loading and unloading items from vehicles;
• Providing excellent customer service;
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules;
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record;
• Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, scanner gun, printer, etc.; 
• May require occasional coverage at Buffalo area work locations; 
• Assist with any and all mission work as needed and requested with some or no prior notice including, but not limited to: serving as a truck spotter, helping with FARM Market/Community Garden/Freight Farms/on and off site food distributions, preparation of meals and serving home-delivered meals; and 
• Other duties as assigned or needed

Requirements

• Must possess a New York State Class B Commercial Driver's license and have a minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience (CDL A Preferred);
• Must have a history of responsible driving; 
• New York State Certified to operate tow motor/forklift equipment preferred;
• Ability to quickly and proficiently learn new software including but not limited to Net Suite Oracle, WAERLinx, RoadNet and Paylocity;
• Must be literate with four basic math skills;
• Proficient in MS Office; and
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds for up to two hours continuously.
