Responsibilities

As a Lead Systems Engineer you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technologies effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.  

   

As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for evolving and maintaining the infrastructure that sits underneath our primary reporting systems. In this position, you will perform monitoring, proactively react to bottlenecks and areas of concern, configure, and support our Kubernetes environment work to cross-train with other team members. In this role, you will perform as the primary business hours on-call support, as well as assist with off hours on-call rotation as needed after onboarding.  Current off-hours on-call rotation is 1 week, every 3 weeks although this is subject to change as the team dynamics evolve.

   

As an Lead Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:  

  • Providing analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of Azure platform solutions and related technologies 
  • Partnering with various IT teams, vendors, and lines of business to ensure solutions are built to best practices and will meet all applicable business, legal, and audit requirements  
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of technical requirements, designs, infrastructure, and support processes 
  • Proposing software and/or configuration enhancements to adapt to changes in business requirements or to gain efficiencies through automation 
  • Improving Cloud Data Engineering solutions and systems for protection against evolving threats and efficiency 
  • Coaching and developing other members of the organization on the best practices that should be followed in Data Management and cloud platform development 
  • Managing access and permissions where necessary and implementing automated solutions 
  • Troubleshooting and managing issues related to platform, Azure objects, Databricks, etc. 
  • Obtaining an in-depth understanding Cloud Data Engineering enterprise technologies, as well as key business and security drivers as they relate to the projects
