Who are we looking for?

GHD is looking for an experienced Sr. Engineer with a focus in Water/Wastewater/Recycled Water planning, design and construction. This is a project-focused role responsible for the management and delivery of projects across the water market sector and can be based out of our Phoenix, Arizona office.

Responsibilities of the position are:

• Lead the wastewater treatment, planning, rehabilitation, design, and construction of wastewater and recycled water infrastructure projects. 
• Develop new business opportunities and client relationships with municipal and utility agencies within the region. 
• Communicate regularly with clients, acquiring two-way feedback and input. 
• Coordinate with Project Director, Business Group Leader, and Engineering Design Organization Leadership to assemble the project team and regularly review the project. 
• Develop a clear project description that defines the scope of work, manage scope, schedule, and budget. 
• Deliver the project within budget and on time in accordance with the work plan. 
• Prepare and implement the project management plan, including written briefs to team members. 
• Conduct specific investigations, feasibility studies, functional and detailed designs. 
• Build effective relationships with the GHD US West Water Market management team, North America, and across GHD's global footprint. 
• Develop, mentor, and assist staff in gaining experience and expertise in water services.
• Actively Participate in and lead a Process Mechanical service group with GHD US West region within three months of the start date.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Civil Engineering Degree, Masters Degree preferred
• Registered Engineer in the State of AZ or CA, or ability to obtain in 6 months
• 15+ year's proven experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the water industry, including a strong background in treatment, planning, rehabilitation, and design
• Active in AZ Water and AWWA
