Flood Control DistrictAbout the Position
As an Engineer Associate, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in operations and maintenance (O&M) engineering. You will play a key role in supporting the safe and effective operation of Flood Control structures. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of engineering tasks, including conducting plan reviews, performing inspection activities, ensuring quality control and compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations, and assuring compliance with environmental regulations for operation and maintenance concerns on flood control projects for the O&M Division.

We Require
Bachelor’s degree in a work-related engineering discipline that includes, but is not limited to, Civil, Structural, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical engineering, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, Construction Management, or other closely related fields; Or
Four years of professional pre-registration civil engineering experience or experience performing senior-level technical engineering work, including civil site plan reading and interpretation
Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) may substitute for the aforementioned experience
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Ability to read, understand, review, and make recommendations on general site plans
Public works construction inspection experience
Job Contributions
Perform reviews and approve designs, models, plans, and/or permits to ensure they meet District regulatory standards and O&M needs
Perform administrative and technical reviews of applications, engineering plans, reports, and other supporting documents in the form of, but not limited to, IGAs, MOUs, and maintenance plans
Participate in the design of in-house, maintenance, construction, and safety contract projects to ensure compliance and conformance with plans, specifications, standard drawings, and special provisions
Compile, interpret, analyze, and make mathematical calculations for determining material quantities, coverage rates, and grade slopes
Participate in final walk-throughs and one-year warranty walks for public wo
