Technical Writer Interns can expect to learn skills to develop hardware and software technical documentation for end-user operation, assembly, and maintenance of the Patriot Missile System. The individual will work with other technical writers, interpreting logistic information and engineering data to collect and document systems architecture, and develop applicable support technical manuals while gaining hands-on experience with Raytheon systems and tools.
What You Will Do:
- Exposure to developing simplified theory of operation and block diagrams for electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment
- Exposure to developing operators, software, fault isolation and troubleshooting procedures for electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment
- Exposure to writing removal and installation procedures
- Working with technical illustrator personnel in support of publication effort
- Working with desktop publishing personnel in support of publication effort
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's (or higher) Engineering degree in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, industrial, aerospace or other closely related engineering field.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
- Experience/education with technical writing
- Experience/education with interpretation of technical documentation
- Experience with project execution
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word)
