The Team:
People Connect is the front door for People and Culture within the Department of Health, providing a centralised and trusted point of contact for employees, managers and external stakeholders across Tasmania’s public health system.
Operating within the broader People Services unit, the team delivers advice and support across a wide range of People and Culture matters, from routine to complex enquiries. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the team provides consistent and reliable support through the Advice Line and Service Portal.
Working collaboratively across People and Culture, the team ensures enquiries are managed efficiently, consistently and at the appropriate level. By delivering accurate, timely and practical advice, the team supports employees to access the advice and support they need, enables managers to effectively lead their people, and contributes to a positive, high-performing workforce, ultimately supporting better health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
As a People Services Advisor within People Connect, you will play a key role in delivering People and Culture services across varying levels of complexity, contributing to service improvement and ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes across the service.
You will be accountable for:
- Managing complex and multi-stage enquiries, using awards, agreements, employment legislation and policy to inform advice and deliver high-quality outcomes, supported by clear and professional documentation.
- Delivering People and Culture services through the Advice Line and Service Portal, ensuring enquiries are managed efficiently and consistently across the service.
- Supporting employees and managers through People and Culture matters, applying best practice and procedural fairness, and contributing to effective and timely resolution.
- Coordinating the progression of matters between service levels, including escalation and referral to other People and Culture teams, and working collaboratively to resolve matters and deliver trusted outcomes.
- Monitoring service performance, identifying trends and inefficiencies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance systems, processes, knowledge and overall service delivery.
You will need:
- Demonstrated experience providing advice and support across a range of People and Culture matters, including managing complex and multi-stage enquiries and applying contemporary practices within a complex or government environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to gather and interpret information, explain processes clearly, and support employees and managers toward effective resolution of matters.
- Highly developed written communication and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and professional correspondence, briefings and reports for a range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk, apply judgement and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and service delivery, while working collaboratively to implement effective solutions.

Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent full time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Note: - this role has multiple location options and can be based in either the South, North or Northwest.

Salary:
$102,027 to $106,985 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
