Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer intern for Summer 2026. In this role, you will perform design, drafting and stress analysis tasks. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of 3D modeling and/or knowledge of Stress analysis/Finite Element Analysis.
Required: Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications
• Actively enrolled in a Mechanical or Structural Engineering Bachelor's Degree
• Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis
• Experience in Engineering CAD tools (Any 3-D Platform such as CREO or SolidWorks) OR stress analysis experience/Finite Element Analysis
Desired skills
• Candidate must have the ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
• Candidate must have good oral, written, and presentation communication skills
• Knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5
• Hands-on experience through project work, internship experience or building/working on personal projects

Work Schedule Information
