The principal investigator, Dr. Stephanie Santoro, is a clinical geneticist. The successful candidate will work with the principal investigator in various capacities. This will include some administrative tasks (calendar management, completing paperwork, updating documents), some grant writing (including literature review and library searches, using software for citation and reference formatting) and help with research projects (creating electronic surveys in REDCap, data analysis, making summary data tables, writing and submitting manuscripts, patient recruitment and study coordination, regulatory documentation and monitoring). The candidate will also learn the MGB Medical Record system, Epic, for review of retrospective chart review data. The candidate will commit to work part-time (50% FTE / 20 hours per week) for 12 months. At the end of 12 months, this individual may have the option to continue in this CRC position with Dr. Santoro, pending funding.

The principal investigator is looking for a motivated, caring individual who is interested in learning about the operations of clinical research and is enthusiastic about working with and improving healthcare for people with genetic syndromes including trisomy 13 and 18.

Job Summary

Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone interviews.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
-Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
-Assists with interviewing study subjects.
-Assists with study regulator submissions.

Bachelor's Degree Science required
