The General Ledger Accounting Manager is responsible for the integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting. This role will lead critical initiatives such as budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and internal controls, while supporting cross-functional partnerships and process improvements
Directly supervises one or more employees. Responsible for hiring, planning, monitoring and taking corrective action when necessary, including termination. Addresses concerns with staff to ensure a positive work environment. Works closely with Director on personnel issues, escalating as appropriate.
· Oversee the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate month, quarter, and year-end closes
· Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and other reporting requests
· Manage a Data Analyst and partner with teams across the business to gather inputs and provide insights
· Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
· Lead the budgeting process and support cash flow forecasting
· Manage the cash segregation process, including bank transfers
· Calculate and maintain account allocation ratios
· Manage estimated tax payments and contribute to tax planning for multiple entities
· Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
· Collaborate regularly with HR, IT, Revenue Cycle, and department directors
· Support audit requests and tax return preparation for multiple entities
· Help guide the team through an ERP transition and help build a more scalable finance function
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or related field.
· CPA strongly preferred
· Minimum 8+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a management role
· A combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge will be qualifying.
· Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial statement preparation
· Comfortable leading process change and coaching others through ambiguity
· Collaborative, positive, and process-driven mindset
· Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
· Ability to lead through change and build processes from the ground up
· Strong sense of integrity, curiosity, and collaboration
· Strong business acumen and attention to detail
