Senior Producer, Yahoo Finance Executive Analysis Team

The Yahoo Finance team is looking for a New York-based senior producer with a strong level of producing experience in business news either across live television, streaming or video. The senior producer will report directly to the Executive Editor. The ideal candidate will be stationed daily inside the newsroom of Yahoo Finance’s New York City based office, and is someone who relishes not getting beat on-air with stories and big interviews, craves breaking and making news, knows the top players driving global business and enjoys innovative ways of story-telling.
Your Day:
Work daily with the Executive Editor to produce news-making on-air interviews.
Work daily with the Executive Editor to develop unique segments for live and taped programming.
Manage high-level sources behind the scenes.
Assist Executive Editor in booking news-making on-air interviews.
Prepare research and questions for Executive Editor for key interviews.
Work collaboratively across Yahoo Finance’s live programming and text teams to ensure segments gain maximum visibility for a global investing audience and with internal stakeholders.
Plan and manage key bookings for highly visible events attended by Executive Editor such as the World Economic Forum and Milken.
Develop innovative ways to tell daily investing stories through the use of infographics, Yahoo Finance tools and other mediums.
You Must Have:
A minimum of 5 years of experience producing business news either across live television, streaming, or video.
Strong knowledge of financial markets, investing concepts, public company leaders and passion for the field of business news reporting across live and taped programming.
The ability to produce numerous segments with deep context daily in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to tell business news stories visually using Yahoo Finance’s extensive graphics capabilities.
A proven track record of pitching daily business news segments.
A proven track record of developing new show segments.
Experience booking news-making guests and managing key relationships.
The ability to write clearly and utilize Yahoo Finance’s many investing tools in your producing.
A solid network of sources and an appetite to utilize them daily to make and break news and add context for a global investing audience.
The ability to research and develop thought provoking questions for Executive Editor for high level interviews.
The ability to write text stories for public investor consumption a bonus.

A proven track of working collaboratively and successfully across many different facets of a newsroom operation.
The ability to travel on reporting assignments.
