Job Description:
(50%) Administrative Support of the Graduate Programs (currently ~60 PhD and MS students).
Responsible for managing surveys, metrics and reports associated with accreditation of the graduate programs (e.g. Task Stream). Coordinates program activities with Graduate School and attends regular meetings with the Graduate School. Responsible for managing graduate recruiting process including matriculation and processing admissions, orientation, assignment of office space, coordinating advisor matching and supporting graduate student progress (general exams, thesis defense) including Graduate School requirements. Responsible for processing graduate fellowships, scholarships and awards. Responsible for authoring reports and proposals related to graduate students fellowships, scholarships and awards. Responsible for compiling reports as needed by the Graduate Program Director or Department Chair. Supervise undergraduate student workers who perform work related to our graduate programs.
(40%) Grant accounting
Manage accounting of research grants (totaling ~$2-4 million per year) for principal investigators for the department. Appoint researchers (graduate students and student workers) in Workday, monitoring accounts, perform accounting adjustments and quarterly reconciling (certification of effort) accounts. Provides monthly summaries of accounts to Principal Investigators. Ensures that grants are not over drafted, ensures that post-doctoral researchers, graduate assistants and student workers are paid on time and assigned to the appropriate accounts.
(10%) Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience or a Master's degree.
