The Sr. Construction Engineering role provides strategic leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale construction engineering projects. This role oversees material and equipment specification optimization and procurement strategies that align to project objectives, advanced materials selection, de-tailed vendor design, vendor selection, procurement support, and detail review, and comprehensive startup and commissioning activities. This role formulates and executes innovative construction engineering and project delivery strategies, driving continuous improvement and efficiency. This role defines high-impact objectives that drive the success of the project delivery team and aligns with broader organizational strategies.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to the team, ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale construction engineering projects in line with project objectives, standards, and delivery schedules.
- Oversee advanced materials selection, conducting detailed reviews of vendor designs and details to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Provide supervision and leadership in the specification development to align proper material selection and equipment performance to project requirements.
- Provide supervision and leadership of defined scope of work requirements to the procurement of materials and/or equipment that align to project requirements.
- Provide supervision and leadership performance-based specifications and contracting that align to company risk standards.
- Strategize and manage construction sequencing and logistics efforts to drive project efficiency and timeliness.
- Lead the team in innovative design optimization and value engineering initiatives to maximize project value and efficiency.
- Formulate and execute comprehensive start-up and commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with design considerations and project specifications.
- Develop and drive innovative construction engineering and project delivery strategies.
- Define high-impact objectives that drive the success of the project delivery team and align with broader organizational strategies and goals.
- Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of engagement, growth, and accountability.
- Oversee workload planning, performance management, and team operations to align resources with business objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
Skills and Competencies
- Expertise and advanced knowledge of construction engineering principles and best practices, including design optimization and value engineering.
- Advanced leadership competencies with a comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area.
- Extensive knowledge of materials selection and vendor design review.
- Proficient in logistics coordination, able to manage construction sequencing efficiently.
- Advanced critical thinking and decision-making skills with ability to design strategy with organizational impact.
Experience
- Typically requires minimum of 15 years of construction engineering, project management or related ex-perience related field or equivalent experience is required
- Prior experience in a managerial role or leading large project teams and implementing strategies is required.
- Experience supporting large scale strategic initiatives.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or related field is required.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $145,000 - $199,000
Location B: $160,000 - $219,000
Location C: $174,000 - $238,000
