Compensation and Benefits· We’ll pay you an hourly salary of $17-$18 per hour, depending on experience and education

Head CounselorHead Counselors are responsible for knowing the ins and outs of our afterschool program, Kids Connection. This includes knowing about their childrens’ and families' well-being (health, safety, level of happiness, etc.), staff well-being (job satisfaction, performance, co-worker relationships, etc.), and special group concerns (behavioral issues, etc) It is expected that Head Counselors will understand and promote the Shalom Austin and JCamps missions and objectives while providing the best aftercare experience for our families. This is a part-time, hourly position. The hours are 2:00pm-6:00pm 5 days a week, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities include:
· Manage the daily routine and activities for all children at Kids Connection.
· Accountability for all children’s’ needs, health, and safety at all times
· Setting up supplies, activities, and snacks each day
· Being on call ready to travel to local elementary schools to pick-up the children (transportation provided)
· Must be comfortable driving 15 passenger van and transporting children (we will provide training)
· Maintaining an accurate master roster of children, signing them in and out each day, and managing the roster for any changes
· Speaking to parents about accidents, illnesses, incidents, and overall behavior of children
· Creating monthly calendars of programs for counselors to facilitate
· Conducting staff evaluations on a semester basis
· Daily cleaning measures such as sanitizing surfaces, bathrooms, and other necessary materials and supplies
· Maintain positive attitude and affective communication with the administrative staff, counselors, and children
· Follow emergency management and safety policies
· Encourage and model respect for personal space, equipment, and facilities
· Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Job Requirements· Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Possess enthusiasm, patience, a great sense of humor, a strong work ethic, positivity, and the ability to work well on a team.
· Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check)
· Must have at least 5 years of driving experience.
· Possess Texas Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.
· Adhere to our Mission, Core Values, and all HR policies and procedures.
· Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20-pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
Enthusiasm, patience, time management, a great sense of humor, attention to detail, strong work ethic, positivity, and excellent communication! Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required!
