Position Summary

The IT GIS Program Manager will be responsible for GIS system design, development, integration and maintenance of a comprehensive IT asset geospatial database.  This role performs a wide variety of tasks from business-based support of GIS, advanced technical analysis and tool support to project management functions. 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum:  $140,000

Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive GIS roadmap for IT assets and execute asset onboarding and data enhancement activities
  • Lead GIS software, hardware and database projects and initiatives.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge and broad expertise to solve complex problems regarding GIS-related software, hardware, work processes, user support and data integration.
  • Identify new partners, technologies, and delivery channels.
  • Develop and manage department expense budget. Regularly monitor expenses against forecast, providing explanation or justification for budget items and/or variances.
  • Manage delivery of GIS-related data development projects, gather input and agreement on new requirements, develop contracts with vendors, lead implementation, communication, training, and documentation efforts.
  • Cross-functional work with various IT teams to develop and maintain system architecture and stability as well as resolve issues affecting business users.
  • Develop metrics and process improvement programs for GIS- related work processes
  • Manage technical projects within Asset Management, working with other groups and vendors to troubleshoot issues and produce technical communication.
  • Mentor and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.
  • Present findings and makes recommendations to management.
  • Works with all levels of management and senior leadership across functions to influence decisions.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 years job-related experience or equivalent


Desired:

  • Advanced Proficiency in ArcGIS 9.x or later
  • Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
  • Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing to diverse groups of people
  • Information Technology or Utility industry experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to initiate and maintain effective working relationships with other technology workers and business customers
