Consultant, Data Designer (Customer Solutions)

This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio office 2 days per week on Mondays & Tuesdays.
Position Overview
This position will report to the Manager, Customer Solutions for the Customer Interaction and Journey Management team.
The Data Designer is a key member of a high-performing team responsible for curating customer interaction data across all enterprise touchpoints. This work enables a comprehensive operational view of how customers engage with Nationwide and their preferences for doing business.
Key Responsibilities
Develop data mappings, source-to-target ETL specifications, and define functional and non-functional data requirements.
Support journey contextualization and customer profiling to enhance analytics and experience design.
Create and maintain detailed data documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and system specifications.
Collaborate with business teams across the enterprise to develop journey maps that inform customer experience strategies.
Interface with a wide range of data channels including web, mobile, email, text, and IVR, across cloud, analytic, and operational platforms.
Communicate data requirements and technical solutions clearly to development teams and stakeholders.
Design data solutions that are scalable, performant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Qualifications
Experience in data design, ETL development, and data modeling.
Strong understanding of customer interaction data and journey analytics.
Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Informatica, Talend, or other ETL platforms.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS) is preferred.
Ability to translate business needs into clear technical specifications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of journey mapping methodologies and customer experience frameworks.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Experience with event streaming technologies such as Kafka, Confluent, or Azure Event Hubs.
Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
