JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:
Under the broad direction of the Senior Director, Marketing Strategy for Global Pharma Services (GPS), the Director Marketing Strategy, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, Quality, MedTech plays a pivotal role in building and executing integrated marketing plans and leading our cross functional teams to drive business and brand growth. This person works best leading a team, both with direct reports and cross-functional team members. A passion for driving results as well as an aptitude for leading teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration are critical to success.
The Director Marketing Strategy, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, Quality, MedTech is responsible for developing and maintaining the annual marketing plan for an assigned commercial portfolio including goal setting, determining the strategy, defining the core marketing initiatives, proposing and maintaining budgets, and ensuring implementation of the plan to meet performance goals and metrics. The Marketing Director is the main marketing point of contact with assigned business leads and coordinates communication across the marketing team and other internal and external stakeholder groups.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leverages a strong primary relationship with business leaders, understands core aspects of the business and marketing model, and builds a strong foundation of trust within the business and the cross-functional team.
Develops meaningful relationships with commercial leaders and cross-functional team members, understanding and caring about business objectives, audiences, problems-to-solve, and market landscape.
Responsible for leading the execution of a segment marketing plan with the support from cross-functional team members.
Leads the development of the budget plan for the year and ongoing management of the annual marketing budget for the segment.
Meets regularly with business leaders and functional partners (e.g., finance, business communications, PR) to keep all groups well-informed of marketing plan progress.
Regularly partners with product and marketing insights team to gather and share information to support a strong understanding of our target customer segments, industry trends, and competitor positioning and messaging.
Analyzes target audiences and directs the development of positioning themes and how those should be constructed and communicated for maximum impact.
Develops strategic plan for industry summits, proprietary events and customer forums for the business segment. Creates the customer experience and pulls through of positioning and messaging for overall event participation. Collaborates with strategic meetings management team to ensure flawless execution.
Assists in preparing presentations geared toward team members and stakeholder groups relative to marketing strategy, branding, events, and campaign performance updates.
Leads and directs the work of direct reports and other members of the marketing and creative team to execute marketing tactics including the creative design and content for collateral, articles, whitepapers, newsletters, letters, websites, advertising, and all other product marketing and campaign activities.
Serves as strategic collaborator for advertising, branding and other agencies and contractors involved in developing and delivering content through various communication channels.
Tracks and measures the success of marketing efforts through quantitative or qualitative research; makes recommendations based on findings and/or best practices.
