The Litigation Support Specialist provides legal assistance to both outside litigation counsel as well as in-house counsel with primary responsibility of factual analysis in individual FCRA litigation matters and subpoenas.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of relevant knowledge of Trans Union’s dispute and credit reporting policies and procedures, information databases and consumer relations issues.
  • Dedicated focus on legal support and analysis on litigation claims including summarizing case facts, analysis of FCRA and internal procedure compliance, legal and factual research, identifying and correcting credit reporting legal issues, provision and authentication of evidentiary documents to counsel and internal legal process management.
  • Extensive experience with Trans Union’s various credit reporting databases as well as reporting policies and procedures is required.
  • Technical Skills/Requirements: Extensive knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and proficiency in DavaViewer, Compliance 360 and CRS databases.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems.
  • High level technical expert regarding Trans Union’s credit reporting rules, policies and procedures for identification of and remedy to complex credit reporting issues including identification of true identity theft victims.
  • Leads Lit Support Team in investigating mixed and potential vaulted files and complex litigation matters.
  • Expert and Corporate witness on complex legal matters.

We’d Love To See

  • Expertise in Trans Union’s reporting and dispute procedures and experience providing deposition testimony for litigation matters.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in multi-tasking high volume tasks including lawsuit analysis, subpoena responses, escalated dispute handling and resolution of threatened litigation.
  • Exercise of discretion when communicating when outside legal counsel, assessing and investigating escalated disputes, threatened litigation and subpoena responses and objections.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision, coordinates and leads daily team activities.
  • Organized with high attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and manage expectations effectively to complete projects quickly, efficiently and on time

Impact You'll Make:

  • Assist in obtaining and reviewing consumer relations information for litigation support; preparing/organizing documents throughout the litigation management lifecycle
  • Assists legal counsel in document authentication, claims analysis and valuation, case development.
  • Serve as client representative for Court Conferences, small claims hearings, mediations, settlement conferences and depositions.
  • Researches and analyzes legal and process issues confronting the company and its operations.
  • Acts as liaison and internal/external client point of contact regarding various legal and relationship issues.
  • Assist in internal management of In-House litigation matters.
  • Maintain all legal documents and file management systems.
  • Works in coordination with other administrative/operational staff & attorneys to ensure ongoing commitment to company initiatives and completion of special projects.
  • Proposes solutions to problems identified for discussion with supervising attorneys.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
