OVERVIEW
The KYC Senior Manager will oversee the quality of the KYC and client onboarding process for the Community Bank and CCBX, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and CCB’s KYC standards while maintaining the integrity of client relationships. This role involves managing a team of analysts who perform quality reviews of client onboarding for CIP/CDD purposes overseeing the activities and performance of the KYC/EDD manager and analysts; planning, executing, and evaluating the operations of the KYC/EDD team; and training, directing, and delegating tasks to team members. The Senior Manager will support the Head of KYC in coordinating internal and external reporting and communications related to the KYC function. Additionally, the Senior Manager will monitor emerging BSA/AML compliance issues, guide the bank in establishing controls to mitigate customer risks, and ensure cross-coordination with teams across FCC and the front line. Key responsibilities also include identifying problem areas and risks in KYC processes and recommending improvements to ensure compliance with the Bank’s KYC standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE
- Lead the KYC team to ensure the timely completion of KYC and EDD Reviews in accordance with Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act, regulatory guidance issued by FinCEN, and bank Policies and Procedures.
- Oversee KYC Onboarding Oversight Analysts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the bank’s KYC standards.
- Serve as subject matter expert for KYC onboarding for the community bank and CCBX.
- Manage quality oversight of KYC onboarding processes in order to mitigate client risk.
- Oversee the KYC/EDD team’s adherence to established SLA timelines.
- Support Head of KYC with executing short and long-term initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, improve workflows, and optimize SLAs.
- Ensure the bank’s practices adhere to current standards, align with the latest industry and regulatory developments, and address any new or changing regulations by communicating their impacts to the affected business units.
- Provide appropriate feedback to the community bank and FCC stakeholders while maintaining positive relationships in accordance with Coastal Core Values.
- Work to ensure high quality standards are maintained within the Bank for KYC.
- Monitor workload for staffing, including Peak Volume Management (PVM) and work with management and outside vendors for PVM needs.
- Act as a liaison to the operational manager(s) of outside vendors supporting the KYC/EDD team. This may include general oversight, and if necessary, providing direct management to external resources (consultants, temps, etc.) augmenting the internal KYC/EDD team.
- Preforming timely reviews of front-line AML/KYC policies, procedures, risk assessments and other required documentation.
- Conduct Initial KYC and Onboarding Testing of Community Bank customers.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring to include:
- CIP/CDD Exception Identification;
- Review of updates to existing policies and procedures;
- Maintain inventory of all community bank onboarding processes and vendors, thresholds, and workflows.
- Work with management across the bank and with Fintech partner management to provide recommendations for account opening and closure requests.
- Work with the BSA Analytic and Fintech Implementation team to assist with tuning of customer risk scoring methodologies, which may include conducting Below-The-Line (BTL) testing.
- Research, resolve and communicate operational issues and potential problems to the Head of AML Operations, the BSA Officer, and/or other business units.
- Maintain and enhance written procedures and develop processes under the guidance of the Head of AML Operations to ensure completion of required tasks. May assist in the development of enterprise-wide policies, procedures and required risk assessments.
