Job Description

This person will a be part of Western Digital's IT analyst team focusing on Sales CoE & responsible for Business Analytics & BI solutioning. Closely working with Business stakeholder & super users, they will strive for operational excellence and project implementation as directed by the IT Enterprise Analytics group leaders.This position demands a high level of expertise and commitment to excellence in all aspects of business intelligence and data analytics within the sales and marketing domain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply sophisticated quantitative and analytical methodologies to assimilate and analyze data, producing impactful and actionable insights for global sales leadership and key stakeholders
  • Transform complex sales business objectives into precise requirements for data and reporting, with a keen focus on the business value
  • Collaborate effectively with internal partners, including engineering teams from reporting and EDW layers, and cross-functional teams within IT infrastructure to ensure successful implementation of processes and projects
  • Provide critical functional expertise during Requirements Gathering and Solution Design sessions, driving the business requirements process to establish precise views and visuals for KPI data gathering and reporting
  • Conduct thorough analysis and triage of user queries for operational and close activities, liaising with technical and process teams for resolution as required
  • Rigorously research and advocate best practices to enhance process design and tooling for BI use cases
  • Facilitate periodic transition to offshore teams for efficient work element hand-off

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field; Master's degree is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of extensive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field within a sales or marketing environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, advanced data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python)
  • Comprehensive understanding of data warehouse concepts, ETL processes, and database management

SKILLS

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions
  • Substantial experience in project management and effective stakeholder communication
  • In-depth knowledge of sales processes, metrics, and KPIs in a global business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Advanced statistical analysis, data modeling, and visualization techniques
  • Superior oral and written business communication skills
  • Proven expertise in business engagement and Agile project delivery
  • Extensive hands-on experience with prominent BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI, Tibco Spotfire, and Oracle EPM Reports
  • Comprehensive understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and Data Lake ecosystem
  • Thorough familiarity with Oracle Fusion Cloud and EPM source systems
