Sr Software Engineer for Systems Engineering & DICE
At Boston Scientific, our products and technologies are used to diagnose or treat a wide range of medical conditions. We continue to innovate in key areas and are extending our innovations into new geographies and high-growth adjacency markets. In the Endoscopy division, we provide advanced technologies for diagnosing and treating diseases of the digestive system, airway, and lungs. We have a robust product line and pipeline, and we will continue to make an investment in Endoscopy treatments.
At Direct Imaging Center of Excellence(DICE) ,we are looking for a seasoned Software Engineer to join our R&D Endoscopy division at Boston Scientific. As a Sr R&D Software Engineer, you'll be at the heart of developing best-in-class capital systems and software as part of our comprehensive portfolio of solutions. Key responsibilities:
- Create and lead software architecture, implementation, integration, and testing for complex, connected electronic medical equipment (“capital”) systems and systems-of-systems independently or in close collaboration with the lead SW Engineer for a given project.
- Work with cross-functional teams across the network to deliver software solutions for the franchise.
- Establish best practices for medical device software development within the growing business franchise.
- Produce maintainable code and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-divisional experts in a wide range of fields to solve complex engineering and business challenges.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery process of our SaaS applications ensuring smooth and efficient operations from initial planning through development, testing and deployment of software features.
- Translate highly technical results into easily understood recommendations that will influence senior stakeholders.
- Manage third party designers, vendors, and contractors to deliver high quality engineering solutions at an accelerated pace.
What we’re looking for in you:
- Experience defining and implementing APIs and communication protocols for control and operation of instrumentation.
- Multithreaded application development that includes testing and debugging C/C++ on Linux.
- Experience developing applications in Qt framework.
- Experience in CPU/GPU optimization application
- Experience in modern Source Code Management (SCM) tools such as git or AccuRev.
- Experience working within an Agile software development environment.
- Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software practice in a regulated environment.
- Experience working within a quality system, IEC and ISO standards relevant to medical device software lifecycle and risk management (i.e. IEC 62304).
- Passion for understanding and solving problems for end users, with an ability to translate into software requirements, design, and test specifications.
- Passion for developing talent, mentoring, and building high-performance teams.
- Track record of strong cross-functional collaboration, influence without authority, and project management, enabling highly effective project teams.
- Proven self-starter who runs towards critical issues, ambiguous requirements, or loosely defined challenges with a demonstrated ability to rally teams to achieve business results.
- Comfortable debugging complex integrated systems spanning hardware, embedded and application software in medical devices.
- Experience with RTOSs like Micrium or similar.
- Demonstrated history of learning new platforms and development environments to best meet project needs.
- 10+ years of software development in senior development and lead roles, preferably in medical devices or a regulated industry, with a proven track record of deployment in commercia
