Director of Software Engineering - CIB Markets Data Strategy

As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the CIB Markets Data Strategy Team, you will be responsible for leading a key transformation of the Data strategy across Markets by delivering the Markets Data Lake, a cross-asset data platform product that will enable the CIB Markets business to capitalize on its vast data assets to deliver the next generation of analytics. Your strong data engineering expertise will be applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of a data mesh across all data producers and consumers for pre-trade, risk, trade and post-trade use-cases. 

Job responsibilities

• Leads strong, global, multi-discipline agile engineering teams to deliver on a complex set of product capabilities for the Markets Data Lake
• Partner closely with CDOs, Quants, Product and senior line-of-business engineering leads to design and deliver key requirements that drive business differentiated outcomes
• Operating a significant estate of spark data workloads that deliver time-critical risk and regulatory reporting for the firm.
• Representing CIB Markets & Post trade technology requirements to the central data platform teams and the wider CDAO office
• As a senior leader in the Markets team, champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization
• Demonstrated experience leading large data platforms in large, highly complex organizations
• Extensive practical cloud native experience
• Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists
• Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale
• Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent

• Experience working with highly confidential data and/ or highly regulated industries
