Job Description
We are seeking a Java Developer (Production Support) III to join our growing team.
This position is onsite and will be a W-2 Hourly 12+ months contract with possible extension.
The hourly rate is $58 – $62. Candidates will be paid within this range based on their work experience and skills. Candidates are also eligible for limited benefits such as health insurance, professional development, training, our referral bonus program, and our wellness program.
Responsibilities:
- Primarily concentrated on production support, particularly within the context of the Xfinity App's backend operations.
- Perform root cause analysis resolve production issues and support the existing production systems.
- Collaborate with development teams to address and resolve production issues, providing technical guidance and assistance as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of production issues, resolutions, and procedures followed, contributing to a knowledge base for future reference.
- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, optimize Java applications, and suggest improvements for enhanced system performance.
- Define common frameworks and software libraries, in various programming languages, that support the creation of efficient, scalable, and highly available microservice-based architectures.
- Respond to and manage incidents in production environments, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to services.
- Acts as a bridge between issues and resolution, engaging with the Dev team for solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related Engineering is required, a master’s degree is desirable.
- 4+ years of proven experience in Java software development using Spring and REST-based architecture.
- Experience in working on AWS.
- Experience in production support activities is a must.
- Proven hands-on in-depth experience with AWS is required, both in terms of traditional technologies (e.g. EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, …) as well as more recent cutting-edge paradigms (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate).
- Experience in establishing non-functional best practices and deploying supporting technologies for improving platform security (including audit) and reliability (latency, availability, scalability).
- Knowledge of distributed network architectures and network security is required.
