Purpose:
As part of the continued growth within the U.S., we have brought two teams together to drive the strategic agenda for the U.S. region on business and regulatory initiatives.
The U.S Business & Regulatory Strategy team supports the strategy development, reporting, and execution of key strategic and regulatory initiatives for the U.S. region. The team is uniquely positioned to work closely with senior and executive leadership across the region, supporting both the U.S. Chief Operating Office and the U.S. Regulatory and Business Initiatives Group.
This critical role will proactively contribute to the overall success of the U.S Business & Regulatory Strategy team, working closely with the Head of GBM U.S. and U.S. GBM COO at the direction of Head of U.S Business & Regulatory Strategy. They will independently manage the consolidated book of work, driving successful execution within a defined timeline and budget. This role provides the unique opportunity to collaborate across the most senior levels of the organization, gaining a holistic view of the strategic agenda that is critical to the Bank’s success.
The successful candidate will have experience in overseeing a diverse book of work with minimal direction inclusive of business, operational, and regulatory initiatives. The candidate should be comfortable independently driving initiatives, developing, defending, and challenging viewpoints, and multi-tasking across a portfolio of projects, leveraging deep relationships across all lines of defense. They will understand our key priorities in detail and be able to articulate the interdependencies of our strategy to the most senior levels of executive leadership and the Board. They will have exceptional presentation skills and be able to articulate the strategic priorities with ease.
A high profile and critical role, having a ‘roll up your sleeves’ attitude and curiosity is a must.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with senior stakeholders and Business managers on execution of the U.S. strategy and approved growth agenda
- Manage the Annual SIP prioritization efforts and ongoing management of the U.S. SIP portfolio reporting and financials and support the U.S. Strategic Investment Forum (SIF)
- Lead and manage portfolio of U.S. strategic projects and deliverables, partnering with and bringing together individual effort owners across business and support areas as well as the rest of the Regulatory and Business Initiatives (RBI) team. Ensure that critical projects maintain momentum and focus, and are completed according to deliverable timelines (e.g., balance sheet management, self-identification of issues, enhancing annual strategy process)
- Develop ideas from nascent stage to executable plans with a systematic process for identifying, quantifying, and comparing expected benefits and costs of an investment or action. Communicate the evaluation to management in a clear and concise manner
