In this full-time role, you’ll work alongside pharmacists to support the preparation and dispensing of medications while ensuring friendly, professional service to patients. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting inventory, and ensuring a smooth, patient-centered experience.

Who We Are

Boone Memorial Health (BMH) is a growing, rural Critical Access Health System based in Madison, West Virginia. At the center of our organization is a 25-bed inpatient hospital with a 24/7 Emergency Department, designated as a Level IV Trauma Center. We serve our community through a network of outpatient clinics and specialty services throughout Boone County and the surrounding region. Qualifications

Required:


High school diploma or equivalent


Valid, active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license with the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy


Strong communication and customer service skills


Ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs)

Preferred:


Prior retail pharmacy experience


National Pharmacy Technician Certification

Key Responsibilities


Prepare medications for pharmacist review and final dispensing


Accurately input and maintain prescription and patient data


Provide courteous customer service at the counter, drive-thru, and via phone


Restock shelves and check inventory for expired or low-supply medications


Accept deliveries and reconcile vendor shipments


Operate cash register and ensure HIPAA compliance


Collaborate with BMH providers and clinic staff


Maintain pharmacy records and patient profiles


Utilize CPSI to retrieve demographic and insurance information


Support physical inventory and maintain a clean, organized work environment


Assist with other assigned duties as directed by pharmacy leadership
