Who We Are:

Frieze is the world’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art, dedicated to artists, galleries, collectors and art lovers alike. Frieze comprises three magazines – frieze, Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week – and seven international art fairs – Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York, Frieze Los Angeles, Frieze Seoul, The Armory Show and EXPO Chicago. Legacy art fair brands The Armory Show and EXPO Chicago were acquired by Frieze in September 2023. In October 2021, Frieze also launched No.9 Cork Street, a permanent space for visiting international galleries in the heart of Mayfair, London.

The Armory Show, taking place September 5-7, 2024 with a VIP Preview September 4 at the Javits Center in New York City, is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate, to work with us full-time leading up to and during the fair. The position will end at the end of September. This role offers a diverse set of responsibilities, and valuable insights into the inner workings of one of the world’s largest and most prominent international art fairs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

 Managing The Armory Show Fair Director’s diary through pro-active time management and prioritization

 Arranging meetings internally and externally

 Agenda setting, minute taking, action tracking and chasing

 Filing and keeping track of the Fair Director’s expenses and support on filing fair related invoices

 Checking progress of key fair projects, keeping track of timelines and deadlines

 Keeping track of fair related clash charts

 Collecting data and feeding back on key steps

 Responding to project related queries

 Monitor general email inbox

 Support tasks across all fair teams

Onsite Support:

 Support the team with set-up and close-down logistics and tasks

 Work closely with the Fair Director to ensure they are on track with their diary for the week of the fair

 Support the Onsite Operations Manager with Show Office tasks and temporary staff operations

 Facilitating onsite orders and supplies for The Armory Show team

 Ensure the office is set-up for internal staff to work from and support with additional staff operation needs

Requirements:

The Fair Assistant will work closely with the Fair Director of The Armory and our Onsite Operations Manager. Required skills include:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong attention to detail and organization skills

- Previous experience in an administration or EA role would be beneficial

- Ability to finish tasks from start to finish

- Self-motivated and able to take initiative

- Establishes good relationships at all levels

- Adapts well to changing circumstances

Hiring Range Minimum:

$20.25 hourly


Hiring Range Maximum:

$27.00 hourly
