About the role

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented 4PL Business Implementation Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end implementation of fourth-party logistics (4PL) projects for our clients, ensuring successful execution, timely delivery, and high-quality outcomes. You will lead and support Global, Regional and Local Implementations and Transitions for New or Existing Global, Platinum or Strategic Accounts. The goal is to meet the client expectations according to contractual obligations following a detailed and structured implementation process and ensuring a smooth transition to operations and account management.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead or support Implementations for new or existing 4PL accounts that are awarded via Global, Regional or Local Bids/RFQ’s/Sales.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and project lead for assigned 4PL implementation projects, liaising with clients, internal teams, and external partners to ensure alignment of project goals, scope, and deliverables.
  • Support re-implementation projects that will include analysis of the account requirements, definition of the issues and restructuration of the operations process.
  • Define, manage, and follow up on all tasks included in project phases (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and Closing).
  • Perform analysis of customer contracts, scope of work and requirements to ensure understanding, compliance, and proper implementation in all modes.
  • Work in close collaboration with Sales, Account Managers, Product, Finance, Compliance, IT, Corporate Analysts and Operations.
  • Manage or oversee the creation of the Account in Operation system, Standard Operational Procedures (SOP), Internal and External Reporting, training materials.
  • Ensure that each branch servicing the account (within the respective Country/Subsidiary) understands the requirements, SOPs, Desk References and executes accordingly.
  • Ensure that project milestones / goals are met and measured in percentages.
  • Regularly update status of progress on business Implementation and Transition to Stakeholders, Regional / Global Implementation Managers within different platforms.
  • Immediately communicate any issues or exceptions to Stakeholders and escalate if needed.
  • Ensure all company policies and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
  • Post implementation analysis including awarded vs moved volume and assist with Implementation information for MBR/QBR’s if required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices development within the organization, leveraging lessons learned from project implementations to drive operational excellence and customer success.

Qualifications

  • College degree or 5-10 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Previous work in 4PL operations and sales within the forwarding industry is required.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, logistics processes, and global transportation operations.
  • Proven experience in managing complex 4PL implementation projects from initiation to closure, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams, manage project budgets and timelines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with common TMS, ERP or Data Consolidation systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop practical solutions to address business challenges.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and facilitate collaboration across diverse teams and organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel (25% - 35%) when required.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written English language, secondary language is preferred.
