Job/Department Summary:

Under the general supervision of the AVP of Human Resources, the Director of Learning and Development will play a key role in designing, developing and delivering professional development courses (both online and in-person), classes and programs for staff and management at Chico State. The position will partner with the campus to deliver training and development opportunities that align with campus needs. This work includes collaborating with key stakeholders to identify organizational needs; creating and sourcing suitable educational materials for in-person and online delivery; facilitating in-person and virtual classes; evaluating the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of professional development offerings and designing activities for ongoing development. This position will help ensure that Chico State is developing the skills and capabilities of its employees in an effective, targeted way that supports professional development and engagement, and promotes transformative learning experiences in an inclusive environment. Responsibilities also include the Fee Waiver program and Conflict of Interest/Form 700 Filing.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
AND
A minimum of three years experience designing, creating, implementing, and facilitating training programs (in-person and on-line).

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: 

  • Bilingual.
  • Experience preparing learning and development programs for adult learners.
  • Technical fluency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience building and managing websites.
  • Experience with learning management systems.
  • Experience developing and facilitating learning and development programs for management-level employees.

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm 

CSU Classification Salary Range:  $57,744 - $185,388 per year.  (Admin II)

Anticipated Hiring Range:  $85,000 - $105,000 per year.  Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected.
