Sr Engineer
MAIN PURPOSE
The incumbent is responsible for the preparation and execution of Consumer Health division’s capital and infrastructure projects. The incumbent is responsible for preparing, submitting, obtaining approval, and implementation of assigned capital projects at Myerstown and has advanced skills in dealing with complex projects. The incumbent is responsible for managing inside and outside resources for implementation of these projects. The incumbent serves as the engineering technical liaison between production and maintenance teams and acts as a technical consultant to the production departments.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Engineer role:
- Manage assigned capital projects up to $5.0MM. The projects can be for any department at the site
- Develop capital project requirements, resource allocation and plans to meet capital program goals
- Prepare and implement Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) protocols for new equipment commissioning and qualification
- Works closely with Reliability Engineers and Technical Supervisors to develop and deliver capital projects that are reliable and energy efficient
- Provide technical input from the OEM for the Preventive Maintenance program for production or utility equipment that is purchased and installed as part of the project
- Act as Team leader for interdepartmental project teams
- Provide technical expertise for equipment evaluation and troubleshooting problem areas
- Audit equipment vendors, construction services and engineering contractors and make recommendations regarding in-house or external work
- Prepare equipment specification documents and leads negotiations for new equipment purchases
- Communicate and report status of project to the management and department that sponsors the project
- Provide input for capital budget preparation
- Balance the requirement of the customers and adjusts priorities accordingly
- May lead projects in multiple areas of the entire site, including packaging, manufacturing, and utilities
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
- The incumbent must balance the requirements of customers and provide technical guidance and support for the production or utility maintenance staff
- The incumbent must support the qualification documentation and implementation process for new equipment installations
- The incumbent must provide updated engineering drawings and documentation to the site engineering team in a timely manner
- The incumbent must make regular contact with all levels of employees within the departments on the site
- He/she must demonstrate a high level of facilitating skills to reach consensus
- Presentations to site management are sometimes required to obtain project approval
- The position requires frequent contact with outside vendors, suppliers and with other Bayer Corporation sites
WHO YOU ARE

Required Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics preferred) required with at least 7 years’ experience in a government regulated industry preferred; OR an “MS” Degree and at least 4 years preferred, as previously noted; OR a PHD with at least 2 years of experience preferred, as previously noted
- If no degree, 10 years of equivalent experience and high performance is preferred and reviewed by site management team
- In-depth knowledge of GMP environment and GMP dress code
