This is a Career Service position with the Headquarters General Services Team. Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.
This is a highly responsible professional position This position is responsible for the administration of insurance and damage management as it relates to the Department's fleet operations.This position will also assist in other areas within the fleet team to include but not limited to, monthly vehicle log submissions, HQ motorpool operations, maintenance, and updates to policies.
How you will make an impact:
The incumbent in this position must display exemplary customer service and communication skills and have the ability to perform the following duties:
- Work directly with field staff to coordinate and provide policy guidance on vehicle insurance, damage reports, and resolution. Encumbent will be directly responsible for managing all vehicle loss/damage claims and legal inquiries ensuring that processes are navigated and notifications are sent as required.
- Review and process vehicle usage log submissions.
- Review repair/mantenance fro best value in accordance with Department policies and procedures.
- Manage the Department's vehicle insurance policies and ensure that invoices are paid timely.
- Drive Department vehicles to and from service appointments and as needed to conduct state business.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair and best practices.
- Knowledge or experience managing automotive insurance claims.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to vehicle acquisition, use, maintenance, crashes, property and records management.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and make independent decisions in accordance with documented processes.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and organize work assignments.
- Ability to prepare reports and gather data.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
