Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with a yearly compensation of $120,00-$160,000 plus incentives. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.
Overview
This position is responsible for the end-to-end setup, optimization, and long-term strategy of Southern Glazer’s inbound logistics network, which moves over $ 25 billion worth of products annually. This leader must ensure that the Logistics Team and associated resources successfully manage the transfer of goods in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will succeed by applying strategic problem-solving, advanced analytics, and industry-wide logistics best practices, as well as by fostering strong relationships with our suppliers. Success as a Director in Logistics requires effective oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, organization, data-driven prioritization, and time management, as well as a natural ability to interpret data and generate solid financial and logistics insights while leading complex initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and execution of network strategies for domestic and international logistics.
- Implement logistics departmental strategies, including project management and implementation.
- Manage new Supplier Launch programs, providing optimal methods to deliver products to SGWS markets.
- Recommend and execute continuous improvement initiatives supporting SGWS's strategic objectives.
- Responsible for the oversight and reporting of logistics-related product innovation and technology projects and activities.
- Evaluate and act on Logistics Supplier & Shipper scorecards, determining and addressing opportunities for improvement.
- Establish and monitor logistics performance measurement systems, including on-time delivery, carrier scorecards, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) for carriers.
- Implement strategies to manage and resolve exceptions for PO escalations, unassigned carriers, site-to-site transfers, SGCC bypass, and other similar issues.
- Implement a freight transformation project to restructure and enhance freight management, accrual, and reporting processes.
- Act as a liaison for the Logistics team for site escalation, claims, AR issues, spot bids, customs brokers, etc.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and execute volume/seasonal transportation programs, including corporate buys, rail allocation, summer reefer, protect-from-freeze, winter wine, and drop trailer programs.
- Responsible for cross-functional training and awareness to our internal and external customers.
- Escalate and communicate macro logistics disruptors and industry updates, making recommendations to leadership.
- Support technology and BI/A initiatives representing Logistics.
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team that meets agreed-upon objectives and delivers best-practice results and added value. Maintain team key performance indicators, metrics, reports, process documentation, and other records in support of continuous improvement.
