The Senior Finance Associate compiles and analyzes financial information for an organization. Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations. Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
What You Will Do:
- Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.
- Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Preparation of the monthly financial statements.
- Analysis and review of monthly financial results to ensure accuracy and correctness.
- Preparation of monthly rolling forecast of profitability.
- Preparation and/or review of overhead allocations.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis on an as-requested basis.
- Preparation of management discussion and analysis "MD&A" for monthly results, monthly forecast, and annual budget.
- Analysis of the trial balance.
- Preparation of the annual budget.
- Analysis of client receivables.
- Liaison directly with corporate departments for support and analysis.
- Preparation of audit schedules.
- Analysis of Corporate Property, Plant, & Equipment "PP&E.”
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years previous accounting and financial experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the latest spreadsheet or word processing software.
- Good communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with others, and the ability to communicate directly with upper management.
- Knowledge of general ledger systems and subsystems.
- The ability to be proactive in preventing errors and detecting areas at risk, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Obtains working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
- CPA preferred.
Reporting Relationships:
The incumbent reports directly to a Supervisor or Manager of Finance. This position does not have any direct reports but may lead others as assigned.
