The TERM Director of Workforce Development directs all activities of delivering Workforce Training programs throughout the state of New Mexico. Director is responsible for planning, budgeting, recruiting instructors and students, and ensuring delivery of the training in accordance with the requirements of customers, students, and/or industry members. The Senior Director develops and consults on public policy and advises SFCC programs on best practices and opportunities for training expansion.This role may offer the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement as determined by Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan and lead Workforce Development Training Programs funded by State Appropriation and through other funding sources
Develop scope and content for programs in line with project management and budget guidelines
Develop Implementation Plan working with SFCC staff and consultants
Assemble and manage partnerships with nonprofit, governmental, educational, and private sector organizations to deliver Workforce Training
Create and maintain budget
Develop plan to reach diverse populations across state with a focus on reaching at risk populations
Develop marketing materials, press releases and outreach materials to attract instructors and students.
Recruit and train instructors
Recruit and enroll students in trainings statewide
Create and maintain data tracking system to record information about trainings delivered, certifications issued, participants, geographic locations, partnerships created and prepare quarterly reports
Prepare any testimony or reports that may be requested by New Mexico governmental departments or legislative bodies
Issue course completion certifications and digital badges
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Workforce policies and programs
Knowledge of project management
Knowledge of budget processes
Knowledge of government procurement processes
Knowledge of community college processes and governance structure
Knowledge or New Mexico’s political, tribal and geographic subdivisions and governance structures
Knowledge of adult learning theories and training delivery best practices
Skill in team building with diverse populations and made up of various entities
Skill in managing data collection from initial system development to report creation and deployment
Ability to manage financial and operational aspect of government funding and grants
Ability to create, analyze and improve workflow systems
Ability to create partnerships with non-profit, governmental, educational, and private sector organizations outlining responsibilities to be completed by the partners
Ability to travel around New Mexico
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business, Education (or related field)
Five Six (6) years of experience in higher education, government, and/or workforce development (or related field).
Education may be substituted for relevant experience on a year-for-year basis.
Driver’s license required.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer.
May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/ office work environment.
Work Hours:
Typically, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. May be required to work after-hours and/or weekends.
