Primary responsibility is to pull out empty and back in full trailers of raw product, waste trailers, and rock trailers into the truck dump in a safe and efficient manner to ensure an even product flow into the plant. This position is a seasonal position which runs from approximately July 6th, 2026 thru December 4th, 2026.
Hours of this position are as follows:
- 1st shift: 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- 2nd shift: 4:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a thorough inspection of the yard tractor and/or semi-tractor and record on daily log.
- Remove empty and replace full trailers of raw production onto the truck dump.
- Weigh and scale out full and empty raw product trailers.
- Drive in accordance with all traffic regulations.
- Operate the truck dump as needed.
- Must be able to load/unload waste trailers properly as needed.
- Assist in the outside operation of the production as directed by the Outside Mechanic/Supervisor.
- Maintain semi-tractor and yard tractor in a clean and orderly manner.
- Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.
- Notify supervisor immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered.
- Any other duties as assigned by Lakeside Management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge:
- Must have the ability and knowledge to pass the Lakeside Foods Forklift Training Program.
- Learn and follow the approved safe practices and procedures which apply to position.
- Become familiar with, observe and follow all Lakeside Foods’ rules and established policies for Safety, Health and Security.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to accurately fill out routine reports, scale tickets and correspondence.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Carry out responsibilities and exercise prudent judgment in decision making.
