Stevedore Senior Operator

Summary

The Stevedore is responsible for performing various tasks relating to the loading/unloading of various grains into or from Maritime Vessels and or barges.  Additionally, will operate ship loading gantry’s, ship unloader, and heavy machinery including, skid steers and front-end loaders to preform task needed.  When not performing stevedoring responsibilities, position will require housekeeping and general labor duties throughout the grain elevator.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing various tasks relating to the loading/unloading of various grains into or from Maritime Vessels and or barges
• Operate ship loading gantry’s, ship unloader, and heavy machinery including, skid steers and front-end loaders to preform task needed
• Conducts routine inspections before operating equipment to identify needed maintenance and or repairs
• Perform all work within the safety guidelines established by local state, and federal agencies as well as company policies
• Perform housekeeping and general labor duties throughout the grain elevator

Minimum Education

• High School Graduate or GED preferred 

Experience Requirements

• One year of prior ship loading experience or Union Laborer with the ability to learn PECO operation
• TWIC application is required 

Experience Preferred

• Reading, Writing, Math, and Analytical skills 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Able to move freely throughout the agribusiness facilities including climbing vertical heights (0 -150'), carrying tools and equipment (0-50 lbs.), exposure temperatures (0-100) degrees Fahrenheit, humidity (0-100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus. Required to travel to remote agribusiness facilities and customer locations.
