Job Summary:
Mercury Systems Processing Tech - Compute business unit seeks a talented senior principal electrical engineer to deliver cutting-edge solutions for mission-critical aerospace and defense applications, combining commercial innovation with defense-grade security. In this role, you'll innovate with advanced embedded technology to solve complex systems as part of a collaborative hardware electrical engineering team. As a seasoned individual contributor, you will serve as a key liaison between program management, system engineering, mechanical design, software, and manufacturing, working independently with minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities:
- Creatively design, develop, and verify complex circuits, modules, and systems to meet customer and market requirements
- Develop complex embedded digital hardware products from concept through lab verification to production
- Take ownership of the full product development lifecycle, ensuring quality and performance standards are met
- Designing with cutting-edge technology from Intel, Microchip, Xilinx, NVIDIA, TI and beyond
- Interacting with architecture/system engineering, program/product management, CAD & SI, ME, FW/SW, purchasing, and Manufacturing Operations
- Designing using high-speed digital design interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe, DDR SDRAM Memory. Other support circuitry to include DC/DC power, Clocking, JTAG, SPI, I2C, UARTs
- Develop detailed design specifications, test plans, and verification reports
- Develop schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or equivalent
- Support of CAD and Signal Integrity (SI) with PCB Rules with Cadence Allegro or equivalent
- Utilize LAB tools such as Oscilloscopes and DVMs for verification and debug
- Execute Lab Debug for both HW/SW that range from new development to continued sustaining
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering
- Typically requires a minimum of 10+ years of related experience in electrical engineering product development from concept to production
- Experience designing complex circuits with microprocessors, FPGAs, or network switches
- Experience using PCB CAD layout tools; Cadence Allegro preferred
- Developing detailed design specifications, test plans, and verification reports
- Developing schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or equivalent
- Experience in development of proposals, requirements, design specifications and test plans
- This position may require you to have or obtain a government security clearance in the future. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intel CPU architecture (Xeon-D, Cascade Lake, Sapphire Rapids), development, and test including BIOS firmware or other Microprocessor architecture
- Network interface devices by Mellanox, Broadcom or Marvel
- Analysis including stress derating, reliability, and FMECA
- Schematic integrity checking analysis with Mentor Valydate or equivalent
- Experience designing electronics for rugged environments with industrial/military grade components
- Requirements traceability (JAMA, DOORS)
- An active Secret Clearance
