SPECIAL NOTES:

High School diploma or its equivalent with four (4) years of relevant work experience in the area of accounting, finance, economics, or risk management; OR an Associate degree with two (2) years of relevant work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, or Accounting is required.

 

Additional requirements:

  • One (1) year of experience conducting audits or examinations of financial documents.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete task(s) as assigned in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to operate a computer and be knowledgeable in the use of various spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

 

Overtime and weekend work may be required. Must be willing to travel 75%-100% of the time. Occasional overnight travel is often required.  A valid driver’s license and automobile is required. 

 

The starting salary is expected to be at or near the minimum base range, commensurate with experience. The annual salary range for this position is $49,584.72 -$100,797.48. This position includes the addition of a Competitive Area Differential (CAD) of $53.73 monthly/$644.76 annually.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the techniques used in conducting examinations of financial institutions or insurance companies; Knowledge of basic accounting or auditing principles; Knowledge of the methods of compiling and analyzing data; Knowledge of monitoring techniques; Knowledge of basic mathematics; Knowledge of Chapter 497; Ability to recognize validity, authenticity and propriety of accounting and operating records; Ability to examine and conduct audits of financial records; Ability to review, analyze and evaluate data; Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Ability to conduct research and prepare reports; Ability to probe and obtain critical facts; Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; Ability to communicate effectively; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
