The Team:
The Procurement Advisory Services team is responsible for the majority of goods and services contracts for the Department of Health (DoH) and Tasmanian Health Service. The team works closely with our customers being Departmental staff, to focus on delivering efficiencies via the procurement function.
The Role:
Support high level procurements and business activities involving tenders/contracts undertaken by the Unit and for clients within the Department of Health.
Investigate, establish and monitor Agency contracts and pursue opportunities to establish new or more effective contract arrangements.
Support the Strategic Manager in the development and management of the Unit’s procurement activities.
You will need:
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of contemporary procurement practices and requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply Treasury instructions and other policies and protocols associated with procurement.
- Demonstrated high level effective communication, interpersonal and consultancy skills together with the capacity to operate effectively in an environment of competing interest groups and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level advice on procurement related matters to Agency staff.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
