Brief team/department description:
The Senior Director of National Accounts will serve as a key member of the market access account management team, responsible for GPO, LTC and Specialty Pharmacy customers. This role will oversee relationships with multiple national GPO accounts and LTC consultant pharmacy organizations, including all relevant contracting and client pull through efforts. Additionally, this role will own our partnerships with Specialty Pharmacy organizations, managing core Azurity brands. The ideal candidate is a seasoned ac-count manager within the pharmaceutical industry with an understanding of contracting, strong negotia-tion and strategic thinking skills and the ability to analyze accounts. Additionally, this candidate will have experience creating and executing against yearly business plans.
Principle Responsibilities:
Account & Contract Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with national and regional GPO’s, LTC consultant pharmacy organizations, specialty pharmacies, and large health systems.
- Negotiate and manage contracts across multiple GPO’s, ensuring competitive positioning and strong Gross-To-Net performance.
- Manage value-based agreements, rebate programs, and other innovative contracting solutions.
- Monitor contractual performance across the Azurity suite of core products. Conduct regular analysis of customer performance and partner with these contracted entities to drive down-stream client uptake of contracted brands.
- Conduct routine quarterly business reviews with key clients to align performance.
- Manage all elements of our Specialty Pharmacy partnerships, including the general contract, product performance, patient support efforts and management of manufacturer liaisons partnerships.
Brand Promotion and Support:
- Provide appropriate market shaping and brand promotional efforts throughout the life cycle of Azurity’s core brands. Ensure GPO and LTC clients have a strong understanding of the value proposition of these key products.
- Participate in industry conference events with a focus on enhancing key relationships with our core customers and ensuring our brands maintain an appropriate level of presence at these events. Additionally, capture key insights from our customers and industry experts and share these internally to ensure our organization is aware of market shaping trends.
Sales Team Collaboration:
- Partner with sales leadership to ensure they are aware of key pull-through opportunities and how to leverage our brand access with IDN, PCP and Specialty customers.
- Provide sales team support with appropriate customers centered on core economic messages for our brands that are approved for market access promotion.
- Gather sales insights that will help shape continuing and future market access strategies.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, or related) is a positive.
Experience
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Market access, strategic accounts, or related account management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing market access or similar types of contracts.
