Senior Software Engineer, Manufacturing Test (EagleEye)
AndurilAbout the role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Manufacturing Test Software Engineer within Warfighter Systems (Eagle Eye), you will be the technical anchor for the software infrastructure used to validate our most critical defense hardware. You will own the hands-on execution of migrating, refactoring, and bridging our existing LabVIEW test capabilities into modern Python environments. The software you write and deploy will directly impact the speed, yield, and reliability of the tactical systems we deliver to the warfighter. This is a highly collaborative, technical execution role. You will partner with Product Software/Firmware teams to embed testability into our products, and Centralized Test Software teams to integrate our factory floor with enterprise-level test runners, CI/CD pipelines, and data infrastructure.
WHAT YOU"LL DO
- Deploy Solutions for the Warfighter: Ensure 100% mission readiness of our tactical hardware by deploying bulletproof, highly repeatable automated test software to the production floor.
- Bridge the LabVIEW-to-Python Gap: Write the integration layers, wrappers, and APIs necessary to run and monitor legacy LabVIEW test sequences within modern, Python-based test runners and frameworks.
- Drive Test Maturity with Centralized SW Teams: Partner with Anduril’s centralized software and test infrastructure organizations to adopt, co-develop, and deploy standardized test frameworks, unified database schemas, and modern deployment tools (Git, Docker, CI/CD) on the production floor.
- Implement Real-Time Data Visualization & SPC: Build interactive test dashboards and integrate Statistical Process Control (SPC) engines to track test parameter drift, monitor process capability and proactively identify manufacturing anomalies and yield-killers before hardware escapes to the field.
- Collaborate with Product SW & Firmware Teams: Engage directly with product software engineers during the design phase to define and implement test interfaces, diagnostic APIs, and built-in self-test (BIST) routines within the product firmware.
- Architect Reusable Test Infrastructure: Develop and maintain core software libraries, instrument drivers, and test templates. Standardize how we interact with hardware (RF, power, digital signals) to ensure any engineer can quickly write a reliable, production-grade test script.
- Deep-Dive Debugging: Own the software health of the production floor. When a complex test sequence fails or drifts, you will dig directly into the code, check memory leaks, analyze execution logs, and patch the codebase to keep the line moving.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Mission-Driven: You understand that a software bug on the test line can result in a hardware failure in the field. You take personal ownership of the quality of the code you ship.
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of professional experience writing, debugging, and deploying test automation software.
- Proficiency in Python (developing applications, OOP, API integration) and LabVIEW (software architecture, debugging, actor framework or state machines).
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional software teams to integrate localized hardware scripts with centralized, enterprise software systems.
- Proven experience writing driver software for laboratory/production equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DAQs, load banks).
- Solid grasp of modern software engineering practices: Git, unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and software release management.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS
- Experience working with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, or RESTful APIs for hardware-to-software communication.
- Familiarity with container
