Software Engineering Intern, Graduate

Compensation: $30.00 per hour. 

JOB OVERVIEW  

Our Graduate Summer Internship Program is designed for driven individuals seeking to deepen their expertise, tackle meaningful projects, and gain invaluable professional exposure within the dynamic world of genetics.   

Throughout the program, you’ll work on impactful, resume-level projects that align with your skills and career goals, providing you with hands-on experience that translates directly into future opportunities. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, you’ll explore real-world applications of advanced concepts, gaining insights and knowledge that will set you apart in your field.  Some of the projects that you will lead/participate in during your internship that will enable you to have this experience, include: 

• Progeny Application Development 
• Debugging and bug fixing 
• Back-end API development  
• Participation in new application architecture design 
• MySQL SQL and database design

JOB SPECIFICATIONS  

II. EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE:  

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or engineering/physics 

III. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Skill, Abilities and Capabilities):  

• Advanced proficiency in verbal and written communication 
• Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting objectives 
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a focus on critical thinking and innovation 
• Strong grasp of Java and SQL 
• Experience with IDEs preferably IntelliJ IDEA 
• Understanding of JSON and XML 

IV. EXPERIENCE:  

• Undergrad level courses in software development and programming languages 
• Extensive coding experience in Java preferred
