About the Role:                    

The School Based Therapist, Unlicensed (“Therapist”) is an integral member of Community Reach Center’s School Based Services team. The Therapist under direct supervision provides clinical and support services to children/youth and their support systems utilizing evidence based best practice models. The therapist (unlicensed) provides school-based services, including individual, family, and group therapy in school settings. The therapist also works collaboratively with school personnel and other community partners to coordinate care to support success for students.  Additionally, the Therapist will have other duties and responsibilities as determined from time to time by the Program Manager.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provides counseling, therapy and/or psychotherapy to consumers and families to include provision of skill-based and psychotherapy groups.
  • Prepares treatment plans, monitors progress, follow-up and case management of community referrals; consults with other professionals, including paraprofessionals and school staff.
  • Provides crisis intervention and emergency services as needed to clients.
  • Develops collaborative relationships with community partners and school district staff to support effective care coordination on behalf of consumers and families.
  • Ensures a safe, comfortable, and confidential therapeutic environment, in a school office.
  • Receives ongoing supervision and attends 28 hours of approved clinical training per year, in addition to center trainings.
  • Documents all notes/ interventions and maintains confidentiality of consumer records.

 Qualifications:

  • Requires a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field.
  • Prefer professional counseling with work toward licensure for: LP, LPC, LCSW, LMFT.
  • Understanding of brief, empirically supported, solution-focused interventions with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Strong familiarity with DSM V, ICD 10 and diagnostic techniques.
  • Communication, organization, time management and clinical skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required,
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Schedule: 

40 hours per week, M-F schedule is flexible but must be at the school during school hours. The SBT will be placed in the Mapleton Public School District at Academy High School and Clayton Partnership School. This placement serves grades K-12 all located in the
