Job Description
ROLE of the POSITION
This position works under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Retention and Outreach and is responsible for direct oversight and administration of the federally funded college-level programs and Student Support initiatives at UNLV. These programs include TRIO Student Support Services grants, TRIO Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program, Title III AANAPISI, Basic Needs, Hope and Fostering Scholars, SNAP E&T, Emergency Scholarships, Food Pantry and other related projects. This position also works and regularly communicates with all members of CAEO's leadership team, UNLV colleges/departments and community partners to ensure collaboration, effective program administration and adherence to compliance.
The senior director is accountable for consistently meeting all of the objectives outlined in each grant proposal, as assigned. The senior director also ensures provision of Basic Needs and Emergency Support services to current UNLV students. These services include the following: addressing food insecurity and financial instability through a food pantry, emergency funding, SNAP navigation and referrals, as well as targeted support for vulnerable student populations, including students experiencing homelessness, former foster youth, and other at-risk learners. Furthermore, the senior director is responsible for submitting quarterly and annual performance reports, as mandated by the funding agency and the AVP. The senior director is also responsible for ongoing participant identification and selection, eligible participant placement in the program where each student will gain maximum benefit, public promotion of services, short and long-term planning, directing programs' services, and budgeting for all programmatic efforts to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and university mandates, as well with CAEO and project specific objectives.
