As a Regulatory Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to achieve U.S. registration of pesticide products as well as representing BASF by participating in regulatory-related industry meetings/committees.
We are seeking a professional like you to independently manage regulatory projects and lead the development and implementation of regulatory strategies required to obtain, defend, and maintain our active ingredient and product registrations. This role provides regulatory support for scientific, regulatory affairs, and policy-related topics to address regulatory issues impacting current and future registrations in our Crop Protection, Professional & Specialty Solutions, Seed Treatment, and/or Biologicals portfolios.

- Creating regulatory dossier submissions for U.S. EPA and international regulatory authorities according to globally harmonized guidelines, as well as providing regulatory support and service to internal technical and business teams, company customers, and sub-registrants.
- Developing and implementing strategies to achieve U.S. registration as well as potentially assisting with Global pesticidal products. Experience successfully registering pesticides is preferred.
- Engaging in EPA regulatory activities through interactions with industry and agency associations, presenting convincing arguments to regulatory authorities for timely registrations, as well as negotiating with internal groups to gain buy-in on regulatory strategies and innovative registration approaches.
- Leading cross-functional project teams that develop data supporting North American registration of pesticidal products, coordinating activities associated with development of new active ingredients, developing and plan new end-use products, as well as re-registering and expanding existing registrations to include new use sites requiring more extensive data development.
- Working closely with different business units to ensure that registration activities are conducted consistently with the overall objectives of the APN business, advising APN business teams on regulatory issues impacting the business.
- Finding new solutions where principles, guidelines and targets are only broadly defined as well as work in a rapidly changing environment contributing to projects of moderate complexity.
If you have...
- PhD in agriculture field or related scientific discipline with 3+ years’ experience in the pesticide industry, preferably with pesticide registration.
- or MS degree in agriculture or related scientific discipline with 6+ years’ experience in the pesticide industry, preferably with pesticide registration.
- or BA/BS degree in agriculture or related scientific discipline with 8+ years’ experience in the pesticide industry, with minimum 3 years’ experience in pesticide registration and/or regulatory affairs.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in pesticide regulatory affairs roles in the pesticide registration industry or related regulatory science discipline.
- Must have working knowledge of FIFRA with a proven track record for US EPA registration of pesticide products.
- Developed regulatory strategies to obtain, maintain and defend active ingredient and product registrations with Federal and State regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated the ability to actively participate in multi-company task forces and industry trade association committees. <
