AVP - Financial Control

SUMMARY

Seeking a highly motivated individual with extensive knowledge and experience in the financial services industry. In this position, you will support management and team members with management of the general ledger, financial analysis, internal and external reporting, and ad-hoc projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Perform monthly/quarterly close functions in accordance with US GAAP 

• Prepare reconciliations and reporting to ensure accuracy of the financials 

• Prepare financial statements, Head Office reporting, BHC reporting and other reports, as needed 

• Perform balance sheet and income statement variance analysis 

• Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports, forms and schedules to provide management and other stakeholders with financial information 

• Assist with the preparation of both internal and external financial reports

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards necessary for the completion of assigned tasks

• Maintain sufficient knowledge of the bank’s business operations and operational workflows

• Work with both internal and external audit on any requested info and support

• Provide support for system enhancements and engage in ad-hoc projects within the Finance area.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret complex financial information

• Capacity to multi-task and deal with shifting priorities while always maintaining focus on delivering timely information to management and key stakeholders

• Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

• Must be comfortable and effective working autonomously as well as cross functionally

• Must be tenacious in meeting deadlines with a strong sense of urgency and self-discipline

• Desire to work proactively and ability to add value

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required

• Certified Public Accountant preferred

• 5+ years of related experience require

The expected base salary ranges from $91,000 - $135,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
